Vol. 9 Issue 7

Come visit us at the Hollywood Farmers Market tomorrow. We are open tomorrow rain or shine. Make a splash! Join us for food, crafts, and music!

Blue Berwyn Farms is your one stop shop for seasonal radishes, carrots, turnips, broccoli, cauliflower, leafy green vegetables and now fruit! Blue Berwyn will be bringing fresh picked cherries, blueberries, and blackberries. They will also have tons of fresh garlic and a new jelly flavor apple rosemary. Blue Berwyn also has an amazing selection of beautiful floral bouquets. Be sure to see Two Oceans Seafood this week for restaurant-quality wild caught frozen seafood. Their offerings include wild caught salmon, halibut, cod, and mahi-mahi.  Stop by at Oat.Chocolate for fresh home baked sweet breads, granola, and cookies. Need something to bake poach, roast, or cook on the grill this weekend? Look no further than Waltz Family Farms for fresh locally raised meats. Waltz Farms is stocked up. Visit Pupuseria & Taqueria El Solectto for freshly made to order agua frescas, pupusas and tacos. Don’t miss the spring rolls and Pad Thai at Thai Amity. See Sweet Babe for mini churros, mini pancakes or mini waffles topped with fruits, whipped cream, and other delights Finally, please visit our arts and crafts vendors and the great selection of handcrafted art! The College Park Community Food Bank and Hollywood farmers market are partnering on a canned food drive. Bring your unexpired canned goods to the market and leave them at the market management tent. Look for the tall white bag with the College Park Community Food Bank logo on it.

This week John is still out in Idaho for the National Fiddle Championships where he is the backup guitarist of choice by 60% of the contest fiddlers!  Which means I will have the pleasure of another week of picking with Mike Lessin.  For those of you who don’t know, Mike is one of the area’s most acclaimed guitarists – fresh off an all-star gig this week with the Capitol Area’s finest musicians – Mike is the lead guitar player for Late As Usual and Zydeco Jed – both well-known local bands you can catch most any weekend at the bigger venues around town.  Support your local musicians!  We will see you Saturday morning! Rumor has it Patrick O’Donnell and his fiddle may be there for a set: Patrick is a Peabody-trained violinist who mostly plays jazz these days, it’s an honor to have him sit in with us.

See you tomorrow!
